This collaborative project began with reconstructing Williams Carson from archival scans, tracing and refining individual characters into a shared typeface. Ossom was the name for this typeface, built from individual contributions combined producing imperfections within the standardized base. I then reinterpreted the forms using a modular system of circular cutouts, defined by its use of negative space. Translating the type into hand-cut stencils, I produced a poster that explores materiality, composition, and the interplay between typography and image, where letterforms align, overlap, and become a unified visual system.
